Athena was built by teachers, for teachers. The platform was initially developed in 2014 thanks to the support of the Robertson Foundation, the E. E. Ford Foundation, Deerfield Academy, Choate Rosemary Hall, Phillips Academy, the Lawrenceville School, and individual donors. Athena is proud to support teachers in the African Diaspora Consortium’s AP Seminar course on the African Diaspora. Athena actively seeks new partners to continue its growth in supporting teachers.
Program development support has also been supported by the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. Legal counsel is provided by Covington & Burling.
